The CrossTied™ band not only plays for virtually every
worship service at LordsWay Baptist Church, but is also
preparing for a series of concerts -- the
CROSSTIED™ IN CONCERT series -- one to be held
each quarter this year beginning at the church, and then
expanding onto the NMBHS Auditorium, the NMBHS Gymnasium,
and eventually onto the Myrtle Beach Convention Center.
CrossTied's first concert, was held Friday night, April
13th, and Saturday night, April 14th, at 7:00 PM, at LordsWay Baptist Church,
and included brand new original CrossTied™ music along
with personal testimonies inspired and written specifically
for the fundraising concert event. The fundraiser was for IGNITE, the LordsWay Baptist Youth Ministry,
which is among the more active and progressive church youth
groups in the area.
CrossTied™ is involved in writing, producing and singing its
very own contemporary gospel songs to add to the mix of
other popular favorites which the band performs. Unlike many
churches where traditional choirs provide the main music for
worship services while praise bands provide special music,
at LordsWay Baptist Church, the roles are reversed.
CrossTied™ provides virtually all of the music for all of
the worship services, while the LordsWay Baptist Adult choir
provides special music at services. Young people
attending church at LordsWay Baptist say they like it
because it keeps them interested and attentive during the
church's services. As a result, not only does
CrossTied™ require lots of music and the best musicians and
vocalists possible for the upcoming concerts, but they also
need them for all of the worship services they do as well.
Additionally, Art Weiss of BC Music Productions, an
international composer, arranger, record producer and
multi-instrument musician who attends church at LordsWay
when in town, is also working with the band, as is
professional singer/songwriter Lindsey Taylor. Weiss
also owns his own recording studio here in the North Myrtle
Beach area, and Lindsey is one of his recording artists.
Weiss and Taylor are not only helping CrossTied™ prepare for
their concerts, but also helping them get ready for the
group's first CD which is planned for production and release
later this year.
Current members of CrossTied™ include band leader, rhythm
guitarist and male vocalist Joel Warren; lead female
vocalists Courtney Duncan and Lisa Heaton; bass player and
special vocalist Parker Phillips; backup vocalist Amy Warren; and sound
board operator Kevin Duncan.
