While God Works On Their Cares & Stresses

At LordsWay Baptist, we know sometimes that young people can get really stressed out over school work, tests, grades, family concerns, relationship problems, peer pressure, making the right choices, future plans, and all of the other cares they have to deal with on a daily basis.

So we invite our young people to come and meet at the church, and bring with them all of their cares, concerns, worries, and other baggage that's dragging them down and stressing them out. At the church, we pass out bags to them and we ask them to stuff all of their problems and worries into the bags, and then we place them on the altar where we pray about it and turn them all over to God.  Then we just leave it all at the altar and go do something fun to get our minds off it.  It could be bowling, a movie, a concert, a party, or anything.  Sometimes, it's free!  Sometimes, everybody has to chip in and pay their share of the expenses.  It depends upon what we're doing.  But everybody knows up front just how much money to bring if needed.

We call this our GIVE YOUR CARES TO GOD NITE OUT!  It's not only about having fun, but it's also intervention to keep our kids from getting so down on themselves sometimes that they can't think straight and start making bad choices and decisions.  It's also about teaching them what God can do in their lives.  It's about young people understanding that God IS real and can do awesome wonders in our lives when nothing else will do. 

Parents can drop the kids off at the church themselves, or they can call the church (390-LORD) and arrange for someone from the church to come and get them!

While GIVE YOUR CARES TO GOD NITES OUT are
primarily age targeted
for Middle School, High School and Up,
from time to time we will also have special activities for
Primary, Elementary & Intermediate Grade Levels as well!
