Meet Rev. Michael R. Stewart, Our
Pastor...
From
delivering powerful sermons that strike at the core of God's
Word in the pulpit to his incredible ability to connect with
individual members of the congregation in a way that helps
them draw closer to God, Rev. Michael R. Stewart, the Pastor
of LordsWay Baptist Church is a treasure of the church as
well as one of the most dynamic and engaging men of God you
could ever want to meet.
In addition to serving as Pastor at LordsWay Baptist Church
for the past two years, Rev. Stewart is also on the
professional staff of the Grand Strand Regional Medical
Center in Myrtle Beach where he has served as the full-time
Director of Pastoral Care Services since 1999. In that
capacity, he also is heavily involved in meeting and working
with patients and support groups from all over the Grand
Strand area.
Pastor Stewart is a 1993 graduate of the University of South
Carolina, Coastal Carolina College in Conway where he earned
his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education.
He then continued his ministerial education at the
Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest,
North Carolina, where he earned his Master of Arts in
Christian Education. Since 2006, Rev. Stewart has also
been pursuing a Master of Arts degree in Professional
Counseling, in preparation for the Family and Individual
Counseling Ministry which the church plans to launch at a
later date.
Licensed as a
minister in May 1994 by Wampee Baptist Church, Rev. Stewart
served as Minister of Senior Adults at Green Pines Baptist
Church in Knightdale, North Carolina from 1995-1997.
From 1997 to 2000, he served as Associate Pastor and
Minister of Education of the Wampee Baptist Church in Longs.
Prior to being called to the pastorate at LordsWay Baptist
in 2005, Rev. Stewart was pastor of the Spring Branch
Baptist Church in Nichols, South Carolina, for three years,
where he was ordained in September 2002.
He and his wife
of 17 years, Dianne Ward Stewart, have two sons, Maxton
Chandler, age 6, and Tracer Micah Stewart, age 5.
